Teens Run Social Lives on Cell Phones

According to a recent report, cell phones have become a vital part of the lives of millions of teens, who use these devices as an integral part of their social lives.

When it comes to cell phones, there are many people across all age groups who would find it difficult to cope without these devices. The modern, high tech phones that we have today have become popular with many people from business users right through to teens. In fact, for teens, the high tech cell phones have today have become an integral part of their lives.

With smart phones offering the ability to get online whenever required, social network to your heart’s content, send and receive emails, and much more – on top of the usual calls and texts – more and more teens are using these devices to practically run their social lives. Many use their cell phones on a daily basis, not just for making calls or sending and receiving texts but also for networking and socialising with friends in a variety of different ways.

For teens, being able to get on Facebook and share photos and updates, get on Twitter to tweet to friends, and get online whilst on the move means that they can usually get in touch with friends and arrange meetings and outings with ease and speed. However, some officials are concerned that the set up of today’s cell phones make it easier for kids to connect with strangers, which is a major concern.

One teen said: "I am very dependent on my cell phone because it connects me to my friends, which I normally wouldn't be able to do with a landline because it would probably upset my parents if I was on the phone all the time."
